Will the Hub2n provide WiFi for all the people in my campground/RV park/lodge/marina/town/etc?

The AyrMesh system is not designed to provide public WiFi. The AyrMesh Hub2 models provide a strong WiFi signal, but, by extending your router's subnet, it allows anyone connected to the Hubs to access anything else attached to your router. If you have a router that is dedicated for your guest network, this may not be a problem; if the Hub is connected to your office router, it means your guests may be able to print on your printers, access your files, etc.

For a "hospitality" (hotel, campground, etc.) system, one typically wants a number of features not present on the AyrMesh system:

• Client isolation: this puts each client device in its own IP subnet, so they cannot access any devices on the local-area network
• Bandwidth throttling: this limits how much bandwidth each guest can use, so nobody can use up all the bandwidth and "freeze out" the rest
• MAC address whitelisting/blacklisting - this allows the operator to specifically allow (whitelist) or disallow (blacklist) particular devices by their MAC address. Note, however, that "spoofing" a MAC address is extremely easy, so this doesn't allow as much control as you might think.
• Captive portal software - this is a web page that the user sees when he or she connects to the WiFi. In some cases, it may just inform them that they are on a particular system, but it can also require that they agree to terms and conditions before using the network and even have a charging mechanism so users have to pay before they can use the system.

Although the AyrMesh system does not offer these features, if your router does have these features, the AyrMesh system will present them to the clients connecting to the Hubs.

The AyrMesh Hubs are also tuned to provide good WiFi with good bandwidth to a relatively small number of clients (typically less than 30 per Hub and less then 200 per system) spread over a very large area (many square miles). It is NOT designed to provide WiFi to a large number of clients in a small area.

All this said, there are a fair number of campgrounds, small RV parks, hunting/fishing lodges, and small marinas that are using the AyrMesh system to provide WiFi to their customers - some have the Hubs connected to a "hospitality" router, and some just trust their guests not to mess the system up. But we generally do NOT recommend using AyrMesh Hubs for hospitality use.
