How to I install a Remote Hub?

Installation of a Remote Hub is exactly the same as installation of a Gateway Hub. You must initialize Remote Hubs by connecting them to your Router and have them check in to download your network's information.

Once initialized, just plug the Hub's Power Supply into the wall, mount the Hub (high and in the clear), and run an Ethernet cable from the "POE" port of the Power Supply to the Hub. You can also connect any device you want to join the network into the "LAN" port of the Power Supply, and it will appear on your router's network. You can even connect an Ethernet switch to the LAN port of the Power Supply if you want to connect multiple devices, or use an AyrMesh IndoorHub or other access point for indoor WiFi.

Using the Hub2n as an example (other models are similar), the bottom two lights on the Remote Hub are the same as for the Gateway Hub -  the bottom light is power, the second light shows Ethernet activity (if something is plugged into the "LAN" port).

The top four lights are the "signal" lights, and indicate the signal strength to the "next" Hub between this one and the Gateway as follows:

• Just the bottom (red) light - Connected, but low signal (less than -75 dBm)
• Bottom (red) and second (yellow) lights - OK signal (-75 to -65 dBm)
• Bottom (red), second (yellow), and third (green) lights - good signal (-65 to -55 dBm)
• Bottom (red), second (yellow), third (green), and top (green) lights - excellent signal (may indicate Hubs too close together) (>-55 dBm)

The lights update every second or so - nearly real-time.
