The AyrScout Camera needs to be "initialized" by connecting it to an AyrMesh Router or an AyrMesh Remote Hub that are currently checking in to AyrMesh.com before it can be deployed. For complete instructions on installing the AyrScout Cameras, download Instructions for the AyrScout Outdoor Camera or Instructions for the AyrScout Indoor Camera.
First, connect the Camera to a LAN port on the AyrMesh Router or AyrMesh Remote Hub and leave it there for 10 minutes. REMEMBER: THE CAMERA WON'T CHECK IN TO AYRMESH.COM IF IT'S CONNECTED TO A ROUTER NOT IN "GET SSID FROM AYRMESH.COM" MODE.
Look at the DHCP table (on the AyrMesh Router) or in the Devices section in ayrmesh.com (if it's attached to an AyrMesh Hub) - the Camera will either be unnamed (signified by a "U" in the name column) or have a name like "ipcam-xxxxxxxxx." Put the IP address of the Camera into the URL bar of a browser and see if the Camera comes up. If the Camera's web page does not appear, reset the camera by pressing down the Reset button on the camera for 25-35 seconds (until the green light on the Camera's Ethernet port blinks off for exactly 1 second). Here's a video that shows how to do it - once the Camera is reset, it will reboot, which takes about a minute.
Second, once the Camera's web page comes up, log in to the Camera. If the Camera has been initialized successfully, login using your username and password from ayrmesh.com
NOTE: if your ayrmesh.com username or password is more than 12 characters long, use just the first 12 characters of your username and/or password.
If the Camera has not been initialized, login with the username "admin" and no password (leave the password field blank). Select Device Settings - Device Settings from the Camera's left menu. If the "Alias" of the Camera is "AyrScout Camera," then the Camera has been initialized. If you cannot log in to the camera using either "admin" or your AyrMesh.com username and password, then reset the camera to its factory settings (see above).
Third, if you have an AyrMesh Hub, disconnect the Camera and place it in range of the AyrMesh Hub (the range of the Camera is similar to the range of a Laptop computer or Tablet - put the Camera somewhere your other devices can access the Hub's network. Wait 20 minutes, and the Camera should check in to your ayrmesh.com account.
If you do NOT have an AyrMesh Hub, make sure your Router has been set to "Get SSID and Encryption Information from AyrMesh.com"
If your Router is in "Get SSID and Encryption Information from AyrMesh.com" mode, your Camera should check into AyrMesh.com while it is connected via Ethernet, and should check in as a DIFFERENT camera when it is connected via WiFi. Just delete the first "Camera" that doesn't check in after it has been disconnected from the Router.
If this still doesn't work, please refer to the attached Advanced Troubleshooting document.
If these steps don't work, please contact support@ayrstone.com or open a case here and include the following information:
