If you are having trouble installing the AyrMesh Receiver, make sure you have reviewed the printed installation instructions, installation slide show, and youtube video.
DURING INITIALIZATION
If the Receiver is not finishing initialization (the "chase" lights keep going and the top signal light never comes on solid), then make sure:
- You have the Receiver connected to the same router that your Gateway Hub is connected to, that the lights on the power supply, receiver , and the router are all on, and
- That your Gateway Hub is checking in to AyrMesh.com
DURING INSTALLATION
If you are having trouble installing the Receiver in the field, FIRST, check the power supply and make sure the light is on. Also, be absolutely sure you successfully initialized in (the top signal light on the right came on, by itself, and stayed on) and that the Receiver is getting power (lights on).Second, make sure the Receiver is high enough to "see" well over any obstructions and the "label" side of the Receiver is facing the Hub. If the Receiver is facing the Hub and no lights come on (or only the Red light comes on), consider mounting the Receiver higher in the air and/or someplace with fewer obstructions. The light patterns on the Receiver are as follows:
Just the left-most light on - power on, but Receiver not working. Wait a few minutes. Right-hand light blinks while booting.
Left-most light on and adjacent light on or blinking - Receiver working and device attached to the Ethernet port.
Left-most light on and adjacent light on or blinking, signal lights shifting back and forth - Receiver working, connected to router, and trying to check in to AyrMesh.com
Left-most light on, adjacent light on or blinking, and right-most light on - Receiver has finished initialization with AyrMesh.com and is ready for installation
Signal lights:
Red only - signal less than -75 dBm - may not be able to maintain a steady connection
Red plus yellow - signal between -75 and -65 dBm - good signal
Red plus yellow plus one green - signal between -65 and -55 dBm - excellent signal
Red, yellow, and two green - signal greater than -55 dBm - excellent signal, maybe too close to the Hub.
If you are still having trouble, please send an email to support@ayrmesh.com or open a case here with the following information:
