Rural wifi extension

I set up an Ayrmesh hub on my rooftop so I can reach my shop and my wife can work remotely from the pier on our pond.

We have Xfinity for our broadband service and our hub runs off that router.  

I went to turn off the unsecured hotspot function on the router and I lost the Ayrmesh hub.

Why would that be?
