If you sell or give away an AyrMesh Hub that has been checking in to AyrMesh.com, you need to transfer it to its new owner, or at least delete it from your account so it can check into the new account. I'll illustrate here by transferring a Hub from my account to my dog's.
Step 1: Delete it from your account
First, unplug the device and remove it from your network so it won't check in to AyrMesh.com. Then log in to your AyrMesh.com account and find the device you want to delete. Then simply select the "trash can" icon:
AyrMesh.com will ask you if you're sure you want to delete it; click "Delete"
That's all you have to do if you are transferring the Hub to a stranger. However, I'm giving mine to a friend, so I'm going to set up his account for him (primarily because dogs cannot type.).
Therefore, BEFORE I DELETE THE HUB, I'm going to copy the MAC address from my account:
and hold on to it for a minute.
Step 2: Log into the new account and add the device to it
Log into (or create and log into) the new owner's account (making a new account for the new owner may be a thoughtful thing to do). Click the "Manually add Ayrstone Device" button:
Now you can paste the MAC address you copied earlier, then click on the "disk" icon to save it:
Then click "Save":
And now the Hub is in his account:
Now go ahead and plug in the Hub. It will have to be initialized on the new router if it is going to be a Remote Hub.
Wrapup
If you do transfer your Hub to another person, AT LEAST delete the Hub from your account so they can add it to their account. But it's easy to transfer it to a new account for a friend.
